Established in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the Yamazaki Distillery is Japan's first and oldest commercial whisky distillery. Nestled on the periphery of Kyoto, the region was formerly referred to as 'Minaseno', famous for its excellent water and nature, making it the ideal birthplace for Japanese whisky.

Yamazaki is renowned for its diverse fermentation, distillation, and maturation processes. One of its defining characteristics is the use of rare Japanese Mizunara (water oak) casks, which impart distinctive and profound notes of sandalwood and incense to the elegant multi-layered spirit.
