"Between the Land and the Sea."
"A coastal malt with Highland warmth."
- Oban Distillery
Established in 1794 before the town of Oban even existed, the distillery essentially gave birth to the bustling port town that grew around it. Tucked beneath a steep cliff, its physical expansion is impossible, keeping it one of the smallest and most intimate distilleries in Scotland.
Oban operates with only two tiny lantern-shaped stills. It masterfully bridges the gap between the dry, peaty style of the Scottish islands and the lighter, fruity malts of the Highlands. The resulting whisky is a gorgeous balance of dried figs, orange peel, honey, and a distinct wisp of salted sea air.
