"The Heart of Johnnie Walker."
"Pioneered by two generations of remarkable women."
- Helen & Elizabeth Cumming
Cardhu (formerly Cardow) is unique in Scotch history for being pioneered by women. Founded by John and Helen Cumming, it was Helen who famously outsmarted tax collectors by disguising the mash as baking. Later, her daughter-in-law Elizabeth expanded and rebuilt the distillery, turning it into the beating heart of Johnnie Walker blends.
The shape of Cardhu's stills encourages significant copper contact, producing an exceptionally approachable, sweet, and silken spirit. Renowned for its generous, honey-rich, and soft fruity character, it is a quintessential Speyside malt that invites rather than challenges the palate.
