Meaning 'Mouth of the River' in Gaelic, Bunnahabhain was established in 1881 on the remote north-eastern coast of Islay. Unlike its heavily peated neighbors, Bunnahabhain stands out by producing an exceptionally welcoming, unpeated whisky that showcases the natural coastal character of the island.

The distillery's unique character comes from the pure Margadale spring water, which flows through limestone and avoids passing through the peaty moorlands. Matured primarily in ex-sherry and bourbon casks by the sea, the whisky develops gentle maritime notes, rich fruits, and elegant sweetness.
