"The single malt that started it all."
"Always original, always moving forward."
- George Smith
In 1824, George Smith became the first distiller in Speyside to obtain a legal license. The Glenlivet set the standard so perfectly that countless others tried to copy its name, eventually leading to a landmark legal ruling that only this whisky could be called 'The' Glenlivet.
The Glenlivet uses uniquely designed lantern-shaped copper stills that encourage greater contact with the copper, producing an elegantly smooth and fruity spirit. Josie's Well provides mineral-rich spring water, completing its signature notes of pineapple, vanilla, and sweet floral honey.
