Established in 1779, Bowmore is the oldest licensed distillery on Islay. Situated on the shores of Loch Indaal, its famous 'No. 1 Vaults' is the oldest Scotch maturation warehouse in the world, sitting below sea level and heavily influenced by the ocean's breath.

Bowmore remains one of the few distilleries to produce its own floor-malted barley, turning it by hand. It occupies the perfect middle ground of Islay whiskies—not as heavily peated as Ardbeg, yet not unpeated. It offers a majestic harmony of tropical fruits, dark chocolate, and gentle maritime smoke.
