"The true spirit of nature."
"Unchill-filtered, natural colour, purely Arran."
- Lochranza Distillery
The Isle of Arran was once home to over 50 illicit distilleries, but production ceased in the 19th century. In 1995, the Lochranza Distillery opened, bringing legal whisky making back to the island. Since then, Arran Single Malt has gained global acclaim for its pure, vibrant character.
The distillery draws its water from Loch na Davie, arguably the purest natural water supply in Scotland. The whisky matures in the island's microclimate, enjoying the warming Gulf Stream and gentle sea breezes, which impart a sweet, fruity elegance with a hint of citrus and subtle spice.
